Thesis Regulations

 

1. Master's Thesis

 

Completing 30 credits or more and passing the foreign language and comprehensive exams are required.

Until 15 days before the thesis system check, the advisor decides whether the thesis will be publicly presented. (Implemented since the spring semester of 2003)

 

 

2. Doctoral Thesis

 

Completing 30 credits or more, passing the foreign language exam, and passing the comprehensive exam are required. (Implemented since September 2006)

There must be a record of presenting two or more papers in journals at the level of inclusion candidates until the submission of the doctoral dissertation manuscript. (This regulation has been in effect since September 2017)

A preliminary presentation is conducted in the semester before the paper presentation. (Implemented from the fall semester of 2003, with a preliminary presentation in the spring semester of 2003)

 

 

<Supplementary Provisions>

 

The criteria for the inclusion of papers are based on inclusion candidates or higher academic journal listings.

A sole-authored paper is recognized as 1.0 paper, a co-authored paper (2 people) as 0.7 paper, and a co-authored paper (3 people or more) as 0.3 paper.

However, of the two standard papers, one must be a paper, not a book, which is mandatory.

Contributions such as translations, annotated books, authored and co-authored monographs, chapter participation, etc., are considered together. Still, approval for achievements other than the mentioned papers is determined through the consensus of the respective major professors.
